We are looking at less than a month until my book, The OCD Mormon, is officially released! I am so grateful for those of you who have supported the book (and me) and are excited about it too. If you haven’t ordered your copy yet, please click that link above so that you can have it shipped right to you! It is also sold through Deseret Book, Barnes & Noble, and most likely Seagull Books.
It Exists!
I just got an email on Monday that the book arrived at my publishers from the printer. Supposedly it looks “amazing” (though that was the cover designer saying that 😉 and my author copies are hopefully on their way to my very own home! I’ll post a photo on Instagram and Twitter once they arrive (make sure you are following me there to stay up to date!).
LDS Living
In other news, my husband discovered that I was quoted in an LDS Living article entitled, “4 Tips for Those Who Experience Anxiety in the Temple and at Church,” by Madeleine Tolk. I’m grateful to be quoted alongside Church leaders and hope that others who have anxiety and OCD will begin to understand that they are not alone and that many others deal with these mental health challenges within the Church. We need to support each other!
Etc. Etc.
Other than that, I’m trying to make it through summer with my kids, working on marketing and promoting the book, and finishing up my online CBT course (that I have mentioned before) in the meantime. I mostly feel like I’m dog paddling and not making any real progress with anything, but hopefully that’s not the case.
Oh! We are also throwing a “book launch party” on September 12 from 6-8 p.m. at the Deseret Book near the Portland Oregon Temple to celebrate the release—so if you are in Washington or Oregon, look for updates on that in the near future. I also want to make a trip out to Utah in October or November and maybe even do some speaking at BYU or UVU—if you have any connections there, let me know!
